Client due diligence
Because clients can be penalized for knowingly using an unlicensed agency, we give you our licence number up front so you can verify it before the first shift.
Ontario’s temporary help agencies operate under the Employment Standards Act, the Ministry of Labour and ServiceOntario. An agency that cannot show you its licence is a risk to your business — so we show you ours first.
Under Ontario’s Employment Standards Act, a temporary help agency must hold a licence, and clients are prohibited from knowingly using the services of an agency that is not licensed. Licensing is administered by the Ontario Ministry of Labour, with applications and services handled through ServiceOntario.
Because clients can be penalized for knowingly using an unlicensed agency, we give you our licence number up front so you can verify it before the first shift.
Placed workers receive the ESA minimums on wages, hours, overtime, public holidays and vacation. Assignment employees are also covered by the ESA’s rules on equal pay for equal work, and workers receive written information about each assignment.
Ontario rules restrict agencies from charging workers fees for assignments. Alliance workers are never asked to pay to be placed.
Workplace injuries in Ontario are covered through the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). Our WSIB account number is 1309203. Clearance certificates are available to clients on request.
Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, both the agency and the client have duties toward placed workers. We review site hazards, confirm PPE and brief workers before the first shift — it is part of the launch gate.
Workers cannot be penalized for asking about or exercising their rights under the ESA or OHSA. Our Candidate Care calls give every worker a direct line to Alliance, separate from the client’s supervisor.
This page is a plain-language summary for clients and workers, not legal advice. Rules change — check the Ontario Ministry of Labour for the current requirements.
Book the assessment and ask for our licence number, WSIB clearance and launch gate — before you sign anything.
